Bio
I'm 29 years young and live in Austin, TX, with my partner, Michelle, her daughter, Olivia, and our pets Finny, Bella, and Mazzy. I am proud to represent Twisted Flyer on the disc golf trail with my fellow Twisted Sisters. I currently work at Whole Foods Market, do massage therapy, and play as much golf as possible.
Disc golf found me 6 years ago while I was working at Golfsmith peddling ball golf apparel. I practiced ball golf every day on my lunch break, but never seemed to find the time or money to play. One day, I took 2 discs my parents had given me for Christmas (thanks, mom and dad!) and played a round of disc golf at Pease Park here in Austin. I was hooked! Disc golf was everything I loved about ball golf (challenging, outdoors, great exercise) but none of the things that bummed me out (the cost, crowds, jerks in carts hurrying your game, tee times). I soon found some local tournaments to play in and met wonderful friends such as Danielle Vargas, Laura Coffey, Patti Justice, and Des Reading.
Over the past 4 years I have played competitively and continued to improve. Last year I became a Twisted Team Member and love how the company supports the sport and especially the women who play. Most recently, I came in 4th at Z Boaz in Ft. Worth and won $700 in skins with my partner, Cale, in the mixed doubles there; I won the Red Rock tournament at my great friend Dave Moody's ranch; and won the Texas Women's Championships by 16 strokes. I will be competing in the Capital of Texas Open, Kansas City Wide Open, Marshall Street, Women's Nationals, and Veteran's Park Open in 2007 and can't wait to ROCK STEADY!
Most Memorable Moment
1st Ace:
167g Champion Sidewinder at Live Oak Park in Live Oak, TX. Nov 13, 2005...had just finished telling Laura Coffey and Des Reading how I had gone so long without throwing an ace that I didn't think it was ever going to happen...so, for those of you out there that are ace-less, just stop talking about it and throw one! That's what I did!
